If you want "Made in Germany" (not a Chinese import). If you need 33 dB of whisper-quiet operation (your neighbor won't hear a thing). If you have pool control (Modbus, 0-10V, 4-20mA – full integration). If you're willing to pay premium but expect 20 years of use.

They have a variable displacement pump (Flotide VS, €800, works). The problem:

Problem #1: Chinese manufacturing = uncertain quality
Budget inverter pumps (Flotide, other Asian brands): Made in China → quality control varies → some pumps last 10 years (luck), some fail after 3 years (bad luck). You're playing the lottery (will your pump be good or bad?).

Problem #2: Noise level at high RPM
Budget pumps: At low speed (900 rpm) = quiet (<50 dB). At high speed (3,000+ rpm – for backwashing, pool parties) = 60-65 dB (audible, annoying). If you backwash at night (neighbors complain).

Problem #3: Limited control integration
Budget pumps have WiFi/app (good for private users). However: If you have a pool control system (OmniTronic, ProfiDos, other professional systems) → budget pumps do not have Modbus/RS485not integrable → you need a separate control unit (cumbersome).

Problem #4: Uncertain lifespan
Budget pumps: 5-10 year lifespan (typical for Chinese-made pumps – problems start after 5 years: bearings wear out, electronics fail). After 8-10 years: pump breaks down → replacement required (new pump €800).

There is a solution. One that solves all four problems at once – with German engineering.

The BADU Prime Eco VS – the premium inverter pump from SPECK Pumps (Made in Germany since 1909). Its special features: German manufacturing (precise quality control, no lottery), extremely quiet at 33 dB (at 600 rpm – inaudible even at night), full control integration (Modbus RS485, 0-10V, 4-20mA – compatible with all professional systems), 15-20 year lifespan (SPECK quality – a one-time investment).

What you will receive:

  • Made in Germany = guaranteed quality – SPECK pumps since 1909, precision manufacturing, not a Chinese lottery.
  • Extremely quiet at 33 dB (at 600 rpm) – inaudible even at night (neighbor hears nothing)
  • Full control integration – Modbus RS485, 0-10V, 4-20mA (compatible with OmniTronic, BADU Blue, ProfiDos, others)
  • Speed 600-3,400 rpm – larger range than budget pumps (Flotide: 800-3,400)
  • Power consumption from 30W – at 600 rpm (budget pumps: 50W at 900 rpm)
  • Permanent magnet synchronous motor – highest efficiency, longest service life
  • IP55 protection rating – dustproof and protected against water jets (Budget: IP54)
  • Maximum delivery head 22.2m – powerful enough for large pools and long pipe runs
  • 15-20 year lifespan – bacon quality (budget: 5-10 years)
  • 3-year manufacturer's warranty – German standard (budget: 2 years)

The result: You pay €1,500-€2,000 (instead of an €800 budget pump) = €700-€1,200 extra . But: The pump lasts 15-20 years (instead of 5-10 years) = no need to buy a second pump (saving €800) + quieter + easier to integrate + higher quality . Cheaper in the long run + less hassle.

Wednesday evening, 10:00 PM. Backwashing the filter (after a pool party). Budget pump (3,000 rpm): 62 dB (audible – like a conversation) → Neighbor calls ("Can you turn off the pump?"). BADU Prime Eco VS (2,500 rpm): 38 dB (as quiet as a whisper) → Neighbor hears nothing → You backwash in peace.

The 5 most important advantages at a glance:

  • Made in Germany = not a Chinese lottery : SPECK pumps since 1909 (115 years of experience), manufactured in Germany (Nuremberg), precise quality control (every pump tested), no quality fluctuations (budget: every 10th pump has a problem), 15-20 year lifespan guaranteed
  • Extremely quiet 33 dB (at 600 rpm) = inaudible : Budget pumps: 48-50 dB at 900 rpm (quiet, but audible), BADU: 33 dB at 600 rpm (as quiet as a library – inaudible even at night), at 1,500 rpm: 38 dB (Budget: 55 dB), at 3,000 rpm: 48 dB (Budget: 62 dB), neighborhood peace guaranteed
  • Full control integration = professional compatibility : Modbus RS485 (industrial standard – compatible with OmniTronic, BADU Blue, ProfiDos), 0-10V analog (third-party controllers), 4-20mA analog (industrial controllers), potential-free digital inputs (external switches), budget pumps: WiFi/app only (not professionally integrable)
  • Speed 600-3,400 rpm = wider range : Budget pumps: 800-3,400 rpm (Flotide), BADU: 600-3,400 rpm (200 rpm lower = even quieter + more energy-efficient), at 600 rpm: 30W (Budget at 900 rpm: 50W – 40% less power), perfect for 24/7 continuous filtration
  • IP55 + 15-20 years = maximum durability : IP55 protection rating (dustproof and protected against water jets – Budget: IP54), permanent magnet synchronous motor (highest efficiency 92% – Budget: 88-90%), insulation class F (up to 155°C – Budget: B/F), 15-20 year lifespan (SPECK quality – Budget: 5-10 years)

Who is this premium pump ideally suited for?

Reality check : The BADU Prime Eco VS is for premium investors + professional integrators + those seeking peace and quiet , who want German quality + maximum smoothness of operation + control integration – and are prepared to pay a premium price for premium quality.

✓ Premium investors – people who buy "properly once" instead of "cheaply twice".
Budget pump (€800): Lasts 5-10 years → after 8 years: replacement required (new pump €800) = €1,600 total over 15 years. BADU Prime (€1,800): Lasts 15-20 yearsno second pump needed = €1,800 total. You save €200 in the long run + get better quality (quieter, more reliable, German service).

✓ Professional integrators – people with automatic pool control
If you have a pool control system (OmniTronic, BADU Blue, ProfiDos, other professional systems) → you need Modbus RS485 (industry standard for integration). Budget pumps: No Modbus (only WiFi/app – not integrable) → you need a separate controller (cumbersome). BADU Prime: Modbus RS485 (full integration) → the pump is controlled by the controller (automatic, no separate operation required).

✓ Those seeking peace and quiet – people with a utility room near their home
Your utility room is located under the terrace or next to the living room (basement, adjacent). Budget pump at 900 rpm: 48 dB (audible in the house – annoying when watching TV). BADU Prime at 600 rpm: 33 dB (inaudible in the house – like a refrigerator) → You won't hear the pump → Peace and quiet.

✓ People with cartridge filters (who need low pressure loss)
They have cartridge filters (Pentair Clean & Clear Plus – low pressure loss). Optimal speed: 600-900 rpm (slow flow rate = best filtration). Budget pumps: Lowest speed 800-900 rpm. BADU Prime: Lowest speed 600 rpm (200 rpm lower) → even better filtration + even quieter + even more energy-efficient .

✓ People with large pools (50-150 m³) – who need power
Your pool is 10 x 5m (50 m³) or larger. You need: Maximum delivery head of 15-20m (for long pipe runs + filter pressure loss). Budget pumps: Maximum delivery head of 17-18m (at 3,400 rpm). BADU Prime: Maximum delivery head of 22.2m (at 3,400 rpm in "constant power" mode) → more powerful → sufficient even for large pools + long pipe runs.

✓ People with heat pumps/solar systems – optimizing the overall system
Your pool has a heat pump (€5,000) and solar heating (€2,000). You want the pump to run perfectly synchronized (low speed when the heat pump is on, higher speed for solar flow). Budget pumps: WiFi control (not compatible with the heat pump controller). BADU Prime: Modbus/0-10Vfull integration → the heat pump controller regulates the pump automatically.

✓ People who appreciate "Made in Germany" (not a Chinese lottery)
You don't want a Chinese pump (quality varies – some are good, some are bad). You want: German manufacturing (precise, reliable, and inspected). BADU Prime: Made in Germany (SPECK Pumps, Nuremberg, since 1909) → guaranteed quality → no gamble → German service (spare parts, support).

✓ Pool builders/professional installers – installing the best technology
They build pools professionally (for clients). They want to use the best technology (fewer recalls due to problems, satisfied customers). Budget pumps: Sometimes problems (5-10% failure rate after 3-5 years). BADU Prime: Hardly any problems (<1% failure rate – SPECK quality) → fewer recalls → more satisfied customers → better reputation.

Product description: When 115 years of experience meet inverter technology

The concept: Made in Germany = precise manufacturing + strict control

Budget pumps (Flotide, others): Made in China → mass production → quality control varies (some factories good, some bad) → quality fluctuations (every 10th pump has a problem).

BADU Prime Eco VS: Made in Germany (SPECK Pumps, Nuremberg) → precise manufacturing (German engineers, strict processes) → strict quality control (each pump tested before delivery) → guaranteed quality (no fluctuations).

SPECK Pumps since 1909 (115 years of experience) → Know-how in pump construction → Reference in the premium segment .

Extremely quiet at 33 dB (at 600 rpm) – Inaudible even at night

Volume comparison:

BADU Prime Eco VS:

  • 600 rpm: 33 dB (as quiet as a library, whispering – inaudible)
  • 1,500 rpm: 38 dB (as quiet as a refrigerator – barely audible)
  • 3,000 rpm: 48 dB (as quiet as a quiet office – quiet)

Budget pumps (Flotide VS):

  • 900 rpm: 48-50 dB (as quiet as a refrigerator – audible)
  • 1,500 rpm: 55 dB (as loud as a normal conversation – clearly audible)
  • 3,000 rpm: 62 dB (as loud as a loud conversation – annoying)

Difference: BADU is 15-20 dB quieter (at the same speed) → dB scale is logarithmic → 15 dB = perceived as 4x quieter .

Why is BADU quieter?

Precision manufacturing: Motor components are manufactured with greater precision (German CNC machines – tolerance ±0.01mm instead of ±0.05mm in China) → less imbalance → less vibration → quieter .

Permanent magnet synchronous motor: Neodymium magnets (highest quality) → smoother running → less noise.

Optimized housing acoustics: The housing is acoustically optimized (insulating material, vibration dampers) → sound is dampened.

Full control integration – Modbus RS485, 0-10V, 4-20mA

Budget pumps (Flotide): WiFi + App (good for private users – you control the pump from your smartphone).

BADU Prime Eco VS: WiFi + professional interfaces:

Modbus RS485 (industry standard):

  • Compatible with: OmniTronic, BADU Blue Connect, NetLink, ProfiDos, other professional controllers
  • Automatic control: Pool control regulates pump speed (based on chlorine level, pH level, temperature, schedule)
  • No separate pump operation required (everything via central control)

Analog 0-10V (external controls):

  • Standard interface for industrial controllers
  • 0V = Pump off, 10V = Pump at full speed (continuously adjustable)

Analog 4-20mA (industry standard):

  • Like 0-10V, but current signal-based (more resistant to interference with long cables)

Digital inputs (potential-free):

  • External switches (e.g., flow switches, pressure switches, timers) can control the pump.

Practical:

Scenario 1: You have an OmniTronic controller (professional pool controller, €2,000). With a budget pump: The pump only has WiFi → not integrable → you need a separate pump controller (cumbersome – 2 apps, 2 controls). With BADU Prime: Modbus RS485 → full integration → OmniTronic automatically regulates the pump (e.g., "Chlorine too low → pump runs faster → more chlorine dosage").

Scenario 2: You have solar heating + a heat pump. With a budget pump: WiFi control → not integrable → you have to manually adjust the pump speed (when solar is on → pump faster, when heat pump is on → pump slower). With BADU Prime: 0-10V control → the solar controller regulates the pump automatically (without manual intervention).

Speed 600-3,400 rpm – Larger range than budget

Budget pumps (Flotide): 800-3,400 rpm (speed range).

BADU Prime Eco VS: 600-3,400 rpm (200 rpm lower).

Why is a lower engine speed important?

At 600 rpm (instead of 900 rpm):

  • Power consumption: 30W (instead of 50W at 900 rpm) = 40% less
  • Volume: 33 dB (instead of 48 dB) = inaudible (instead of "quiet but audible")
  • Filtration: Slower flow rate = better filtration (water flows more slowly through the filter → more time for dirt to adhere)

Practical:

24/7 continuous filtration (pool runs 24 hours a day):

With budget pump (900 rpm): 50W x 24h = 1.2 kWh/day x 180 days = 216 kWh/season = €76/season .

With BADU Prime (600 rpm): 30W x 24h = 0.72 kWh/day x 180 days = 130 kWh/season = €46/season .

Savings: €30/season → over 10 years = €300 saved .

Permanent magnet synchronous motor – Highest efficiency 92%

Motor type: Permanent magnet synchronous motor (like Flotide, but higher quality ).

Neodymium magnets: Highest quality (German magnets – stronger than Chinese magnets) → higher efficiency (92% instead of 88-90% for budget models).

Efficiency 92% = of 100W electricity, 92W are converted into mechanical power, only 8W are wasted (heat, friction).

Comparison:

  • Budget pumps: 88-90% efficiency
  • BADU Prime: 92% efficiency
  • Difference: 2-4% more efficient → with 24/7 continuous operation = 20-40 kWh/year saved = €7-14/year

IP55 protection rating – dustproof and protected against water jets

IP55 = Dustproof (no harmful ingress) + Protected against water jets (from all directions).

Budget pumps: IP54 (dustproof + splashproof – but not jetproof).

Difference: IP55 is more robust (e.g., if garden hose accidentally hits pump → no problem – with IP54, water could penetrate).

Maximum delivery head 22.2m – Power for large pools

Delivery head = maximum height to which the pump can pump water (at 0 flow rate).

Budget pumps (Flotide VS): Max. 17-18m delivery head (at 3,400 rpm).

BADU Prime Eco VS: Max. 22.2m delivery head (at 3,400 rpm in "constant power" mode).

Difference: 4-5m more → important for:

  • Large pools (50-150 m³) with long pipework (20-30m length = pressure loss)
  • Filters with high pressure drop (sand filters, high-layer filters)
  • Difference in elevation (pool on a hill, technical room 3m lower)

Practical tip: Large pools with long pipes need a powerful pump (otherwise the pressure won't be sufficient) → BADU Prime can handle this (Flotide might be too weak).

3 presets + "Constant Power" mode

3 Presets (like budget pumps): You program 3 speed presets (e.g. Preset 1 = 600 rpm "Night", Preset 2 = 1,500 rpm "Day", Preset 3 = 2,500 rpm "Backflush").

Plus: "Constant Power" mode (BADU only):

How does that work?

Normally: You set the speed (e.g., 1,500 rpm) → the pump runs constantly at 1,500 rpm → but: If the filter becomes clogged (pressure loss increases) → the flow rate decreases (the pump delivers less water – despite the same speed).

"Constant Power" mode: You set the power (e.g., "70% power") → pump automatically adjusts speed → if filter becomes clogged (pressure loss increases) → pump increases speed (to maintain constant power) → flow rate remains constant .

Advantage: Consistent filtration quality (even if the filter slowly becomes clogged – the pump compensates automatically).

15-20 year lifespan – SPECK quality

Budget pumps: 5-10 year lifespan (typical for Chinese manufacturing – problems begin after 5 years: bearings wear out, seals leak, electronics fail).

BADU Prime: 15-20 years lifespan (SPECK quality – German manufacturing, precision components, strict testing).

Why does BADU last longer?

More precise bearings: German ball bearings (SKF, FAG – world market leaders) → last 2-3 times longer than Chinese bearings.

Better seals: Viton seals (chemical resistant, heat resistant) → last longer than standard EPDM.

More robust electronics: Electronic components are over-dimensioned (e.g., capacitors last 20 years instead of 10 years) → fewer failures.

Practical:

Budget pump (€800, 8-year lifespan): After 8 years → replacement required (new pump €800) → Total over 15 years: €1,600 (2 pumps).

BADU Prime (€1,800, 18-year lifespan): Still running after 18 years → Total over 15 years: €1,800 (1 pump).

You save: €200 in the long term + less hassle (no second installation, no second replacement).
